For this tutorial you will need:
A face tube.
**Note: Misted tubes don't work well for this effect.
Open a face tube - Shift D to make a copy. Close the original
Image - Greyscale - Image Increase Colour Depth - RGB 8 bits
Choose Layers - New Mask Layer - From Image. Source Luminance checked
Selections - From Mask
Selections Promote to Layer - Merge Group. Leave those ants marching
Change the Foreground colour to #ebe1cd
Flood fill tool - Match Mode None - Flood the selection
Leave selection active
Apply Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow
Vertical and Horizontal = 1, Opacity = 100, Blur = 0, Colour #5f4e46
Selections None
Duplicate the face layer
Change the Layer Mode to Hard Light - Lower the opacity to suit
Merge Layers visible
Adjust - Hue and Saturation - Colourize - Hue and Saturation = 35
Adjust - Softness - Soften
Open a New Transparent Image 650 x 450
Copy and Paste the cameo as a New Layer - resize if necessary
Change Foreground in Materials Palette to a gold pattern or gradient - Background null
Preset Shape - Ellipse - Create as a Vector checked - Line Width 5
Adjust the vector ellipse until the cameo is inside the oval - Convert to raster
**Note: If using a gradient then apply your favourite inner bevel to the frame
Magic Wand - Click inside the frame - Selections Modify - Expand by 2
New Layer
Foreground to #ebe1cd - Flood the selection
Layers Arrange - Move Down
New Layer
Foreground to #d7d5d5 - Flood the selection
Layers Arrange - Move Down
Leave those ants marching
Change the Layer Mode on Raster 4 and Raster 5 to Darken
Now you can see the cameo
Leave the selection active
Highlight top layer - the Frame
New Layer
Apply Effects - 3D Effects - Cut-out
Vertical and Horizontal = 10, Opacity = 30, Blur = 15, Colour Black
New Layer
Repeat the Cut-out with Vertical and Horizontal at Minus 10, leave the other settings
Selections none
Merge All Layers Visible
Check for sharp edges around the tube and remove them with the Soften Brush
Shape - Round, Size = 5, Hardness = 50, Step = 10, Density = 100, Thickness = 100, Rotation = 0, Opacity = 55
Crop and save as a pspimage to use in your creations
Add watermark and any necessary Copyright information
Resize using Bicubic Resampling
